The best breakfast in a long time... OK, dinner.

Yeah!  We made flour.  We made flour!  And not just any flour, we made fresh Alberta whole weat flour from our kind neighbors Alice and Hans Anderson who farm up the hill!  We did it.  I didn't know if we could at first, but it went well.  All of us surrounded the mill like eager children.  The boys put in handfuls of wheat and we tossed in a few flax seeds for extra measure.  Then... yum yum we made the softest, crunchiest, cocoa-iest waffles you ever did see.  There was no thought to take a photo of them because their rich dark squares were loaded with peanut butter and syrup and inhaled.  So we got pictures of our complimentary dishes: fried eggs and sausage.
Weston inherited my tiny travel sewing kit.  He really wanted it, and since I rarely use it, I guessed he could have it.  I think he likes it because everything is miniature and it has a little clasping box.  He needed to fix his sock, you see.
I miss Donovan these days.  Thankfully he and Weston still enjoy playing together when he's home, but I just don't see him for long.  Hopefully they'll earn their story privilege back for tonight.  Yes.  That'll be right.  He's getting so sassy and witty.  He's starting to correct me on things.  "Mom it's a DVD, not a video."  But Dave and I had to stifle a laugh when he got up from the dinner table pointing to his chest saying, "Horton has to poo."
Dave and I saw our first movie together last night since... ... ... I can't remember.  Since sometime last summer I think.  I mean a movie just for us two, not a kids movie.  I hope we can squeeze in a few more soon.
So, I'm gradually getting my feet under me.
Late last night I went out to turn off the lights on the deck and was amazed at how much more snow had accumulated after that wind storm had blown the rails clean the day before.  It's so deep a few places in town you could lose your boot!  Thankfully the sun came out today and the plow was able to come make our highway level again.  The snow's not gone, but at least it's not a foot high on the main roads.
Weston and Davie did some sledding this afternoon and I had my third drama ministry class.  I wish we had more time before Sunday...  But it'll be great.  Or if not, we could always make waffles!
