Thanks to Arlene and Kjel Erickson, Weston had a grand afternoon while Donovan was in school and Mommy and Daddy were working. He and Kjel catapulted rocks into the far pond (So I'm told) and then Kjel made him a little boat in his guitar making shop! What a lucky kid! Weston christened his new boat Coldwater's Edge of all things and brother Donovan even got in on the fun after his bus ride home.
Arlene has been very generous with us in allowing Weston to play at her house and engage in all kinds of fun activities. He has spent quite a few afternoons over there while Dave and I do some theatrical endeavor or other thing. I'm so grateful. The Erickson's are so generous, and their home is very artful and welcoming.
It reminds me of home and I'm missing Oregon now...
-The weather is still in transition around here: cold winds, then warm sun, then a mix of clouds. I feel like all of Rosebud is in transition too. Nobody quite knows what season it is, or what we should be feeling. School has ended but many students are still hanging around or leaving or left, and the show are now overlapping.
I still feel tired and bewildered, but grateful for creative play for my boys. Thanks, Arlene, for the nurturing love and kindness in this in between times.
