Weston and Donovan had a supernatural fight. Thankfully the little devil submitted in the end.
We also have had some cooler weather these past couple days which have been very welcome for me. Today we even had a hailstorm/thunder shower. I wonder if my co-patriots down south had fine weather for the fourth?
We begged out to the last half of the Passion Play rehearsal today. It felt like playing hooky, but it made so much sense to our sanity and my body needed rest so bad... I nearly fell asleep at the wheel on the way home. When I finally made it back I laid Weston on the couch, Donovan trudged off to the computer, and I laid down sideways on my bed and fell asleep with a pillow under my neck! Oh I could have stayed there for a long time. I feel kind of dizzy these days. Must be my own version of stuffed ear tubes or something. I now have the deep hacking cough that Dave and the boys had last week. My whole body rumbles like I'm slapping out an old rug. Can't wait to be in good form again soon.
Ah... the rain is so important up here because it can be rare. Now those canola fields are gonna go -- gold, fast!
I'm so grateful for the cooler weather. It was really sweltering a few weeks ago.
This morning I saw a fawn! Yep, and a black and green salamander, and a dead sparrow with glistening blue on its wings. Amazing creatures all. The birds are nesting full force now, every stray piece of string has gone missing.
Well, it's Sunday night now and we have a two day break from the Passion Play. The boys did really well today. I'm starting to get the hang of it too.
Oh I had to laugh when I overhead Dave talking to Donovan about balls.
Yes, those balls. "Seed pods" basically Donovan discovered. It went something like this: "Dad, the skin around my balls is tickly." "Yep. That's your scrotum." "My what?" "You're sack." "What are my bouncy balls for?" "They're for helping to make babies." "Then why don't girls have them?" "Girls aren't the only ones who can make babies. They need the seed from the boy." "Oh. So are your seeds all gone?" "No. You're body keeps making them."
Meanwhile I am trying not to laugh too loud at this frank conversation while putting Legos away in their room.
...I think we're in for quite a time of discovery. Because as Weston keeps informing us, he and Donovan will be grandparents soon. I just hope they don't nest too soon.
