A dose of regular summer play...

Yesterday we had a family walk instead of going to church.  We were so bagged from a late night with shows we all slept in.  It was beautiful!
It's important to see the boys playing like it's normal summer and not having to work in a play all the time.
Of course the dirt pile is still a big hit.  Our slowness in calling the County to make good on their promise of grass has become the biggest blessing to the boys.
Nearly a dozen corvettes rolled into town to see the show and we had fun admiring some of them in front of the theatre.
There are now 15 ducklings in the pond and as usual, walks in Rosebud become chats with many friends.  The wind was breezy enough to keep things cool.  I'm so grateful for a cooler summer.  Usually I'm sweltering and having to slow down my breath and energy by this point in the summer, although I still wake up hot and dry-mouthed in the night.  -I have to use the humidifier more, but I don't like how loud it is.  I don't like feeling out of ear-shot from my boys calling out in the night.
Donovan made a turtle sculpture out of dirt and then enjoyed swinging REALLY high and jumping out.
Then we came back and had lunch and were all out the door for our performances!
We had another great turnout for the Passion Play.  Even the premier for Alberta was there in the front row and Weston gave him a piece of bread from the five loaves and two fish!  The show was strong and I was so glad that some of the Man of La Mancha cast got to come and see the second act.  Last Wednesday the end got rained out and so those folks came back to see it.
Dave came and we were glad for his help and company and went to a very crowded Dairy Queen to celebrate.  Looks like everyone had ice cream on the mind yesterday evening.  It was pretty festive as Jesus, Mary Magdalene, Matthew and Siduk joined us (Steve, Lenette, Tim H. and Andrew Cooper. -- My boys always call Andrew "Andrew Cooper".  Not sure why, they just always have.)  It was special.  Then we picked up a few groceries, gassed up the van and headed home to a messy house and instead of tidying, we all snuggled right in for a late night family movie on the couch.  We could only make it half way through before the yawns set in, so we'll watch the rest of Donovan's new Prince Caspian tonight... hopefully.  It's so nice to have four days off for the boys.
