Remember me

More pictures of the Passion Play have become available on the internet and I downloaded a few.  In the top one, can you pick out two boys in orange down front?  That's Donovan and Weston, of course in their Gentile costumes and the woman behind and to the left with the enormous Palestinian sleeve is their mother... me.
The next picture is contraband in that I took it during performance.  Kim and I were huddled pretty close up the hill and my black cloak covered me and my enormous bag with ample room for my handy little camera to peak up the neck of my shawl and click!
Here are Mary and Martha huddled and grieving their friend who spoke of building a kingdom, raised their brother from the dead, but now was letting the religious leaders kill him.

I wish I could have seen this scene of Jesus in Gethsemane.  I was always backstage hearing the eerie flute music and imagining it in my head.  So human, that part of the story, with Jesus struggling to accept God's way, and then finally admiting that's what he most wants in the end.  Not my will, but your will, Your Will, be done.  Then it's immediately tested with Judas and the guards and the urge to fight.
This final picture has the angels at ascension.  Hard to pick out, but they cover the ridgelines.  It's magical when you're there with the trumpet blaring and choir singing.  It makes you giddy with tears and delight at the same time.
Thank God we had good weather and great crowds.  Only two people taken out with heat exhaustion that I knew of, and they recovered quickly.
It was interesting to put myself in a large crowd of fellow humans.  I realize I don't willingly do that often.
I am missing it now.
I hope I can remember.
