Impressions of the Sea

OK, here I am blatantly publishing more memories from the aquarium and our four days at Rich and Sheri's house at the beach. Check out the one of the boys sleeping, soundly. They had NO trouble finding their rest and slept so quietly with the sound of the waves out the window and their cuddly stuffies tucked near.
Now that we're home both the boys have renewed a passion for their Lego's and Donovan has been drawing. He made 20 envelopes and decorated them. Of course he wants to sell them at the corner market to make money. Money has become a new passion for him. When I came home from my exercise class last night, the three of them were playing Pay Day! Donovan has also been fixated on the game of Monopoly which he bought with his birthday money, but when we were down at Mom and Dad's he got a new Transformers Monopoly that he was supposed to leave down there, but when it was time to go, it was like trying to sever his arm to get him to part with it. It was a big, disappointing struggle for both of us, but now he is without a computer privilege for two weeks and has more time to draw.
My boys fell in love with the beach and I trust they will never forget it. That's a good thing when one lives in southern Alberta, miles from any ocean.
It was also good to see them interact with mom and dad. The boys are really quite articulate these days and so conversation can happen easily if the moment is right. I was glad they helped to set the table and pick up after themselves, and I hope Weston can remember learning to swim through the water to Grandpa.
They both go to school in one week. Yikes!
There's a lot I hope to work on in my life over the next few weeks. Namely, walking and
exercise. Although not doing a summer show made for great vacation, staying at home and writing and then traveling instead of working in the theatre, was bad for my eating habits. I feel large and I want to feel spry. I hope I can be more disciplined as we look toward a new routine.
