Passion and Play

Today we finished our first weekend in rehearsal as part of the crowd in the Canadian Badlands Passion Play in Drumheller with 42 degrees Celcius!!  Oh, the poor boys were so fatigued.  Their pink cheeks and tired eyes sent me searching for shade but there was none to be found.  Finally we had a break and they ate cucumbers and sweet peas like they were candy.  They did much better when the clouds covered a bit and now they're full of excitement in regaling Daddy with the adventures of the day.
They really are heart-breakingly adorable in their costumes.  And they have been staged a number of times in feature moments of tenderness.  I'm so proud.
We came home from our hard day's work to a special Snider dinner made lovingly by Daddy who had a very quiet day off!  The dark purple iris had finally opened and thundered rumbling in the distance rising hope that maybe some rain would cool us all down.
It's turned into a late night, but it feels good to have worked on something worthwhile with a group of interesting individuals.
The boys really do an admirable job.  Daddy will be so touched when he sees them.  Now if I can just keep them hydrated and happy...
I had a good, exhausting time too.  I enjoy singing with the company and my feet have blisters from all the tromping on gravel in my sandals and orthotics.  I need to remember to hydrate MYSELF too!
So we're off to an early bedtime and much needed rest from our PASSIONate day of PLAY!!!
