Wonders and Woody, right in my own backyard.

A storm blew right past us!  It's June and moisture is in the air, finally.  Roses are beginning to pop and days are OH SO LONG.  It doesn't  REALLY get dark until 11pm!  Of course that makes for restless boys at night with daylight pouring into their room and birds twittering at 5am.  (Not to mention what it does for the sleepy parents.)
Weston and I saw a marvelous LARGE woodpecker on our bike ride.  --Can you see it on the far away shot?... No, not the excavator, that was Weston's favorite thing (just like his dad: big machines!), but the tall pole with the small notch near the roof...?  YEAH, there he is, the monster of a Woody woodpecker... drilling away on a hollow telephone pole so you could hear him two blocks away!  What a beast.  He makes the little regular woodpeckers around look like ants.
Many marvels.  The rainbow appeared quite late, but I let the boys run out of bed and see it in their barefeet.  We had heard rumblings of thunder, but never got doused.
It's really heating up now and we all pretty much melted during our first day at Passion Play rehearsal.  The boys did great though.  Now if we can all keep up our spirits and grace, we should make it through another hot and long rehearsal tomorrow.
It is a unique privilege to tell this story from the inside.  But hey, I also get wonders in my own front yard every day!
