Dive in, and grow like... flowers!

Well, we should have no complaints about summer weather up here. Some great sunny days without being too stifling. The boys are enjoying our little inflatable pool every day now.
Today the boys and I ushered at the theatre for the matinee and in return got to enjoy a meal at the Mercantile for free. They didn't like that I made them wear their long sleeve button shirts, but they looked smart, so after we were pretty quick to change into something cooler and more conducive to water sports.
Dave's many flowers he planted this year are really full right now. The summer is shorter up here so things grow quick and strong. ...Kinda like my boys right now. It must be in the air. I'll be sorry to see them shift to school in a way. They love their freedom!
But I'm glad they still like to play with each other. I wonder if some of that will change once school starts. I wonder... I wonder... but it's coming and the new routine will sweep us all up.
Better enjoy my long mornings now. Sigh...
I wish I had a kiddie pool deep enough for me to dive into!
We went to the Rosebud cemetery today. I'd been there a couple times recently, but my family hadn't. It was a good thing to do. We learned some more about some families and stopped to pick some dead heads off a beautiful patch of petunias growing on a woman's grave. They were just thriving! It was nice to feel like we could contribute, even if it was just a bit. -And her name was Rachel Snyder!
I'm still enjoying salt water taffy from the Oregon Coast, but today Dave and I just polished off the last of my toffees from the Tudor Guild gift shop down at Ashland. Somehow it feels like letting go. I loved my theatrical endeavor down there.
So... Dave's got another show tonight, I'll play play play with the boys and then read to them to the whir of the fan and the singing coyotes and pine for Northern Lights.
I hope I remember these times in the gray of winter when I'm feeling cold and grumpy.
