Chivalry is not dead.
It is alive and well in the Snider house.
Well, at least the love of swords and battles and shining armour. Helping a damsel in distress would fall into a similar category as Mom asking for help setting the table so in that respect, no, they are not full knights and chivalry is dead.
But the legend of King Arthur is alive and well, as enacted by Daddy's dramatic reading. The boys can't get enough of the drama and the heads chopped off.
This middle picture is of a wasps nest Weston and I spotted yesterday. The organization of group building with just a little spit is pretty incredible. If only theatre companies would apply themselves so ardently. Well, usually they do, but it's hard to see a group of individual humans cooperating as well as hundreds of wasps. Something comes with our extra freedom as creatures in the Maker's image: less productivity and efficiency. But then again, this wasp nest resembles many others. There seems to be a greater variety in human creations.
So Weston made his own helmet out of a flower pot and worked up his shield and sword with Daddy.
I must say he's getting a little tired of posing for photos for my blog. Poor kid. I'm always documenting what he does on his days home from school. Sometimes now when I ask him to look at the camera, he refuses; but I'm particularly grateful for this expression he looked up for. I like the twinkle in his eye.
