We have had an eventful week.
Each time Dave and I start a new class there is quite a flurry in the house to get the right notebook, the right key, the right syllabus (edited and copied), and even the right outfit.
It's pretty exciting! We're teaching more this term than we have in a while and I think that's part of the flurry - that and getting two separate lunches and little boys ready and out the door on Tuesdays and Thursdays!
Karl Sine is playing opposite Heather Zacharias in "Mary's Wedding" which opens Friday night here in Rosebud. Should be wonderful. Dave and I will go that night and celebrate our anniversary. But Karl, busy guy that he is, made time to play with Ninja Turtles with the boys last week, even in mosquito infested sunset and they had a blast! He's got all the weapons and the boys love Karl's exuberant way of playing make believe.
This morning we had our first touch of frost and it was cold inside the house so that I had to kick on the heater for a few minutes.
Weston and I snuggled in on the couch under a blanket to read while Daddy was teaching.
Then we had super nachos and warmed up oatmeal butterscotch cookies. They're so much better warm than just thawed from the freezer. (Yes, we have quite a few of that kind left over - no frosting, no chocolate, no sell.) Oh well, they're delicious!
I went through some old boxes of craft supplies and organized some drawers. - It still feels weird not to be writing on my big play, but now I'm working on other good things... so maybe it's OK to wait. I am working on things that need to be done and that help me to transition and move on mentally and emotionally. Things like memory booking and shedding old keepsakes. -I guess I'm still nesting. Wonder why it's so important NOW?
Dave's lilies are out now and they are so bright! Just in time for our 16th anniversary! Of course his sunflowers are beautiful too. They were the main flowers at our wedding. I'll never forget how the night before the night before our wedding, Dave took me out to dinner at this wonderful little restaurant in Coburg and when the waitress came up to ask what we wanted for dessert, she said something like, "apple pie, chocolate cake, and lilies and sunflowers." I remember it taking a minute and then me being struck and laughing. David had arranged with her before hand and she brought out huge bouquet! Haaa. Memories. I was so young then. (laugh.)
