Finally I took the camera out with me this morning when I walked Donovan to the bus. Dawn was just breaking, but by the time I uncovered the garden the East sun was so bright it looked like mid-day. Here are some shots of the beautiful gold that is overtaking our town right now. I have to get these shots this week 'cause one frost or wind and these babies are coming down. I know it happens every year, but for THESE leaves, this is their one time of glory. I can't get over the blue blue sky behind them. What great contrast. Looking up through the branches, one thinks of a map with the sky being the sea and the leaves the continents.
I made pumpkin ice cream today, very spicy and very refreshing.
I finally realized why my shoulder is bothering me so much. All that weeding and pulling in the garden I did on Monday! I was yanking on those corn stalks to get them down and their stubborn roots held firm 'til I succeeded in thoroughly pulling my self out of alignment and straining that old stubborn left ligament.
Even with the beauty outside, I'm tempted to stay in sometimes and eat poorly, or play computer games with the boys. What is this about? I think it is my avoidance of large tasks that seem too daunting. This conversation should go in my play: "Confessions of a Mother Addicted to Video Games:" "Hey Westi, wanna play Parim Parimeter? "No." "Wanna play Battle Nexus?" "No, Mom. I just want to color." "How about Candy Stash?" "Actually, I'd like it if you could help me set up my train track." "OK, but then after that maybe we could play a game on the computer." "[Sigh.] OK, Mom; if you say so."

I've just been perusing your blog, Jeany. So cool to hear your perspective on what's happening outside and in. It makes me appreciate the fall all the more. I love your pics too!
Thanks, Maki. I love the pictures too. Notice the ROSA red, and the Rosebud GOLD.
Jeany
