Then there's Kendra and Alex.
Then Davey and his prize sunflower (which I did NOT pick for the bouquet, but left to let the budlets below it open up.)
Then more pics of Friday's mini golf tournament with the students.

We had our awards ceremony in Rosebud today. Every year I tear
up when people talk about
loved ones who have died but have left
a remembrance in the form of a student scholarship. It's so important.

I helped a bit with gathering a bouquet of David's garden flowers for the lobby, then I helped Renita make indoor rose bouquets with wheat s
ticking out of them too. It was perfect! Everything has been about harvest
around here, and Rosebud itself is like a little rose tucked in a blanket of wheat fields. I didn't do much, but I did pitch in during the Sunday School hour and got to take in the service.
The staff had been rehearsing all week on a medly of ABBA songs which we performed. It was silly and fun. We started very composed and then let loose at the end with "Dancing Queen."
I'm
proud of all the students.
I took hot tea in a thermos so I could wet my sore throat before I had to stand up and announce some awards. Poor Dave. He carried it in his bag for me and when I asked for it during the ceremony it was empty! Oh yes, the contents of my ginger cinnamon honey tea were in his bag! Yech.
I wish I could have stayed to enjoy the great meal, but it was important to return to our kids after such a long ceremony and I also have a stuffy head cold. Blech. Tomorrow the boys and I get our eyes checked and I can finally order some new contacts. I've been wearing a left eye contact in my right eye which does better with a special toric lens, so we'll see how fast they come after I order them.
Dave and I are pretty tired. We've really been putting in the hours for school, etc. Right now he is over at the Mercantile cleaning! I thought we should just lie low this year with Weston and I having a cold and all, but he wanted to go.
It rained last night in Rosebud and the air was cool in the afternoon for the first time in a long time. It reminded me of Oregon.
The boys took all of four minutes to go sleep.
Wish I could do the same.
I suppose the dishes could wait, but I've got to get through more laundry so we have blankets to sleep with. -I always wash the bedding when I've got a cold. I was up before 7 this morning and took a hot shower, but it didn't help clean me out like I'd hoped. Oh well.
So, I'm off to bed.
Sorry this blog is more like a rambling journal entry than anything poetic today. I'm bleary and only have one clear nostril.
