Vancouver visit.

Well, we made it back!
We flew to Vancouver, stood in line for hours and hours, and flew back home (albeit LATE so we had to scramble to class and drive VERY fast. Thank God the roads were clear except for 5 cars.
That top picture of Donovan was from the last time I tucked him in before the trip and I thought of he and Weston the whole flight out. It was odd flying for such a short trip. I got very sad being apart from the boys. I realized this was our first flight away from them for Dave and I together.
We had a strange and good time waiting for the concert. I have never stood so long in my life. Thankfully we were able to sit on chairs for the first four hours but the next 7... nope. We had great views though! Right up front. These Vancouver pics are from our place in line with a view of Expo ball outside BC Place. Then inside we were just outside the apron of the stage front and center!
The concert (once it got to U2) was wonderful. I knew many of the songs and loved seeing them up close. The only thing that was hard was trying to negotiate my claim to my personal space. A few times people shoved forward and that was hard when you felt you earned your position by standing for so long. The Vancouver crowd was a little tired, but it was a soulful experience and I was happy for David that he got to see them up close. I kept bobbing and dancing partly just to keep my joints moving. We're pretty tired now, but tomorrow we have an important showcase finale for our musical theatre class and then HALLOWEEN!
The boys are SO EXCITED. They have really taken to the decorating idea this year. And tonight they cut into the pumpkins.
A few people are coming down with quite a sickness in the 'bud, so I hope we can stay healthy.
Vancouver is all abuzz with the upcoming Olympics so we bought some souvenirs shirts as a little token present. Even so, we had to labor through the commercial stinginess of the airport gift shop where they would only take VISA or cash, no Master Card. Urg... 10 minutes later we were really doubting the whole thing.
I hear my whining boys in the background and a strained tired Daddy trying to fend off an outburst so... no clever tie in of theme today in my blog... just thankfulness for getting back home safe.
