Off Schedule

This first picture is from David's Facebook. Adam Berquist posted it. We were with he and Dale and Kris Marushy
and our good friend
James Ravensbergen
at the U2 concert
in Vancouver last
Wednesday. That
was us AFTER we
stood for hours,
but as you can see,
we were pretty excited.

What a strange thing. Gaining an hour of schedule but losing an hour of evening light. We're all a bit thrown. We went for a family walk at 4:30 because it had been so beautifully sunny all afternoon and we knew the vitamin D would do Donovan some good. --We only had 20 minutes before the sunset! Both boys complained as usual about going out, but then when it occurred to Weston that he could pedal up the big hill on his bike and then zoom down, he changed his tune. He loves negotiating tough things on his bike.
Donovan, however, was not so joyous. He kept up the complaining the whole time, even complaining of a tummy ache. His fever was WAY DOWN this morning so I thought he was on the mend, but tonight it's higher again and he looks pale. So many people are sick right now.
The church service we led went well and so did Soup Sunday following. I made an interesting concoction of Taco Soup with many many ingredients (as usual.) The surprise one being avocados.
Dave's Sunday School class kids joined us for motions to one of the songs. They were cute.
Dave has taken to reading to the boys the legend of King Arthur. At first the elevated language was hard for them to grasp, but now that Arthur has pulled the sword form the stone, they're totally in and requesting it even.
We've finally bathed both boys and are trying to get them to bed, even with the extended time change. I wonder if Donovan will make it to school tomorrow. They're really encouraging kids with flu symptoms to stay home. I knew Donovan wasn't feeling so well last night when he came back early from trick-or-treating.
Weston was so excited to go trick-or-treating last night I could barely hold him back for the photo. (He's the little skeleton.)
Well, it's November and now I shift focus whether I'm really ready or not. It's time to make time to write. I still need to do evaluations and keep up with my coaching and faith and art class, but I also need to begin my second draft of my play.
I'd much rather do Christmas gifts.
This "not being in a play" schedule coupled with daylight savings can really throw me for a loop. I'm tempted to treat every night like a movie night.
