September is sure different than summer with all its activity, and yet the weather is perfect and everything is golden. School is so full of agenda, purpose, and promise.
The boys have been painting and drawing. They are becoming quite sophisticated cartoonists. (Must be all the Calvin and Hobbes we read them.) The top picture with the pink is by Weston. He says it's a building on fire. Whereas the next two are Donovan's of course. ("Of which there are many".)
Here's pictures of Rosebud at the tail end of harvest. I love the golden morning light. A coolness came into town today with some small showers and I like it.
I saw the huge woodpecker again at sunrise. Oh my, he's got an obnoxious call, it's like a loud laugh! (Remember Woody? - kinda like that.)
This is a big weekend for Rosebud School of the Arts with a staff and student retreat day tomorrow and an awards ceremony Sunday. I'm helping out with both, so finding time to do everything is tough. But now... I must go walk in the warm evening breeze.
Thankfully I've been able to walk a few mornings a week (although I get side tracked with nature easily, especially when I bring my camera.) The other day David walked with me after putting a sad Weston on the bus with Donovan and we saw three little deer and their mom nibbling on the tracks. We stopped and turned around and went another way.
Weston was a bit sad again today, but he was much better. He even managed a slight smile as his tiny face looked out the window as he waved as the bus rolled away.
The pics of Donovan are from 7:30 in the morning at the bus stop.
My favorite one is of the sunrise through the cemetery arch up on the hill.
I hope I can walk more and more.
